Born in England, Dawn Burnham came to Canada, to Toronto, at the age of eight. She attended the Ontario College of Art and Design and subsequently worked in the advertising field where she developed a passion for film, eventually working with the legendary production company, Crawley Films.
She attended Queen's University in pursuit of her Masters in Education, and endeavored to combine teaching and her love of film-making. Dawn has lived and worked as a potter on the edge of the Tay River in Maberly for almost two decades. She lives with her husband Mark Burnham and a perfectly reasonable number of cats and dogs.
Her popular work has been widely shown, including her recent inclusion in the renowned 1001 Pots Exhibition in Val David, Quebec, and her annual status as participating artist in the Sundance Studio Tour.
